You can help speed your submission-to-publication rate significantly by carefully reading this section. Keep in mind that this is a directory of local area businesses, organizations and events.It is being made available to families of all shapes, sizes and ages. People want to know that you exist and they want to know about your event. We will do everything we can to help you make this happen.

You can help us help you by following these rules and guidelines.

• Number Of Allowed Submissions

You may submit as many events as you wish. However, if the same event gets submitted over and over it may hurt your chances of getting it published. Please submit each event only once.

Also keep in mind that each event will be verified before it can be published. Any event that cannot be verified will be dropped from our database.

• Content

All content that is submitted will be reviewed by our staff of editors. Content must follow acceptable "Family-Friendly" guidelines. Any content that is of a questionable or inappropriate nature will immediately disappear without any notification. A good rule of thumb is "If you wouldn't say it in a third grade classroom, don't say it here".

Submitted events are limited to Family oriented events. No adult-only events or events whose sole purpose is consuming alcohol. Liquor licensed events such as fairs and concerts will be considered for publication at the discretion of the editorial staff.

• Event Listing Description Size

Your event description will need to be 300 words or less in order to fit properly in the space available. Please check this carefully. Your description risks being truncated (chopped off) if it does not comply with the prescribed length.

• Links To Your Event

URL site links submitted to the In-Brandon.com Internet Directory will be audited on a regular basis by our link crawlers. Links submitted must adhere to the following rules:

1) Do not submit mirror sites that have the same content, but different URLs.

2) Do not submit URLs that contain only the same or similar content as other sites you may have listed in the directory. Sites with overlapping and repetitive content are not helpful to users of the directory. Multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites.

3) Do not disguise your submission and submit the same URL more than once. Example: http://www.myplace.com and http://www.myplace.com/index.html and http://myplace.com/index.html

4) Do not submit any site with an address that redirects visitors to another site.

5) Do not submit sites "under construction." Wait until a site is complete before submitting it. Sites that are incomplete, contain "Under Construction" notices, or contain broken graphics or links aren't good candidates for the directory.

6) Do not submit sites consisting largely of affiliate links and/or advertising.

• Event Links That This Directory Will Not Accept

We will not accept links to sites and businesses that contain or offer adult materials. (if you're not sure what this means, then you're probably ok)

We will not accept links to sites and businesses that contain gambling online games, such as roulette, poker, bingo, etc. as well as advertisements of gambling houses.

We will not accept links to sites and businesses that contain or offer any illegal materials including, but not limited to, libel, pornography & child pornography, copyright violations, propaganda of violence, hatred or fraud, pirated software (warez) or links to other sites that contain it.

• General

There is no guarantee, either explicit or implied, that your submittal will be published. Many factors affect listings including, but not limited to, space constraints, time constraints, appropriateness and others.

There is no guarantee, either explicit or implied, that your listing will be given any type of preferred placement.
